The ShortCut Goa Trip. Part-1

_MG_6957

Imagine a place. where countless movies have been shot, the stories of the infamous “Konkan Coast”, the churches and the chilled out attitude. That’s where we were heading. Goa. The entire experience was still sinking in. We caught the “Kacheguda Express heading to Vasco, the food was horrible though as there was no taste or life to it. The sights were amazing once we approached the western ghats! The scenery, the waterfall (Doodhsagar) and the fresh air, was all a bliss. It made the horrid 18 hour train journey worth while.

It was 4 p.m in the afternoon where me and my friend Kedar Patwary saw the most beautiful sight ever, the coast; the sun reflected on the beautiful sea full of fishermen, along with a sharp pinch of humidity; it rejuvenated me! The saline air charged us both as were arriving at vasco.

The last station and probably a dead end, Vasco is a small station with a mixture of people who are difficult to get a read on. We enquired for the nearest bus stand and to our surprise saw a lot of buses. Our destination was Panaji or Panjim (the capital of Goa). But there was a huge line we had to over come first. We could have hired a cab or an auto; but we wanted to experience Goan transportation. We saw, we stood and we were still standing there for One and a half hours; sweating and holding on to our bags we finally got two tickets and got onto a bus.

As the bus started the wind made things a lot better. Our contact was waiting for us at the Panjim Bus Stop. A kind man named Mukesh who asked his friend Sai to help us out. He took us in his car and showed the venue of the International Film Festival and took us to a lodge. The name: “DONA RIVA”.

The surprising fact was that these people were very nice, too nice. But was there something more to them being nice? Or was it that we had come from a place where there was a lot of negativity. At the end it was the latter.

The Innkeeper of the lodge was “Vinod”. He was a bit tipsy when he first confronted us but assured us of any assistance during our stay. Sweet chap but tricky as well.

We put our bags to rest and off we went in search of food. For two days it would be a scouting trip to get to know the area and to get used to it! Food was a problem and the restaurant was closed. We saw only one hope; a pastry shop known as “Pastry Palace”. We went there without thinking and consumed more three burgers and sandwiches.

Stomachs full, we crashed on our beds. From sitting on a train and tiring ourselves to standing in a line and tiring ourselves to sitting on a bus and tiring ourselves to searching for a place to eat and tiring ourselves, rest was inevitable.

Lights off, fan on,phones to charge and everything is silent. Just when i had second thoughts about the place; i heard.

The ocean welcoming me, as the waves crash on to the shore. Beautiful nature music, whispering in my ears and putting me to sleep.

More to come. Stay Posted.

PEACE of the night sky

The typical Goa holiday plan, where you don’t know how much you are spending but you spend it anyway. An ordinary experience would be to relax and not care about whats going out of your wallet and enjoy the sights. The sights that you don’t often see in your backyard. Screw the financial dilemma and smell the coast.

How long does one has to wait for the humidity to soak in and go into your lungs, with that salinity in your nose and throat. So beautifully disgusting with the sand and the salt on your legs and the sweat exploding from your skin. Divine!

So here i am, in this vacation where it is openly telling me: its time to go home and be at peace. Because all this while i feel so restless of the fact that there is something missing in my life. A sense of lost comfort for a withering traveler. Peace will flow in like a fresh river melted from an old glacier. I see purpose now, looking at things in the third person perspective.as i come to know that this would be the best get away. But yet peace is just half way through.

I know where i will achieve it.It is worth the wait i guess.

A small feeling from the big universe in my head. Night !!

Dona Riva

Where the sea is calm as the morning sea
Where the sun stays cold and never warms up
As the air is filled with salinity
The sky is blue so is the sea below it
The birds are violent with free spaces
Everyone’s on sandals and slippers forget shoe laces
Different language different faces
Peace has a new definition right here
The ship is mine and its my time to steer
To set a course for this peace to last
Absorbing all that I can in this new found heaven
As time is relentless its moving fast
Gone have the ages of worrisome thoughts
Life has a purpose here getting all things of soughts
The coconut trees has their grandeur
There is a flow of positivity
Something I have to endure
I throw my troubling ladies in the sea
For now I am less burdened and free
Give me this and let me be
This is Goa. This is me

The Bird Kiss

The Bird Kiss

The most beautiful moment captured with my lens. Love transcends species, emotions are high and love is truly in the air! I have many photos of birds but, birds kissing each other showing emotions is something I’ve just heard off; never seen it with my naked eyes! I was lucky to get the image.

Birds, you just surprise me by the day!

Black Bird Rising!

Black Bird Rising!

When you realize that you missed the opportunity of taking a picture of a kingfisher; there’s always another bird flying and chirping around telling me that there will come a time when you will get them all! This black bird was the message i needed, for i consider myself very lucky to take a picture of this “rare” bird! It’s very fast and beats it’s rudder up and down when its angry or excited! I got you !

Even the littlest of birds make me happy and content and amaze me how important they really are!

Bliss at the Edge of the World

Image

These waves that crash the rocks
Below me the battle grows
No harbor of joy or hope of ships waiting at the docks
Nothing seems to mellow
The happiness and peace giving factor
Which dwells within all us kind souls
Are we kind? No, a deadly combination of chaos in a reactor
Having an intricate society with no trust but full of moles
When i see the world before me as i sit on the edge
The edge between the world where i come from
And the true world that is in motion to set free
Now it is night, i feel the cold breeze
The moon has come out and the stars are my hosts
I see what they have in store for me as i ignore the past of my ghosts
This sad and gloomy day has become an exhilirating experience
Where a world exists with no point of interest or no difference
This world is mine for the taking
No society can snatch it away from me, this is my undertaking
The fabric of night is breaking
The elements of nature is in my grasp
So much of purity and clarity, no time to gasp
The air that i am used to
It has to go, as this time it’s my nomenclature
For nature is me and i am nature

The Outcast Speech

Image

Sleeping inside a jeep
On a cold winter night
Sleeping under a blanket
Warmed with fear and fight
Living with the single thought of something wrong
Hearing the tyranny song
Of guns and people singing and dancing
Some girls go loud as they shrill and sing
Ran away from the orchestra, got no supplies; what could i bring?
Only a photograph of the girl and her aunt
It’s not that i am scared, its just that i cant
Run into the production of music and horror
Seeing them musicians paint red with their singers bottles
I hide, i wait, i seek mercy for my existence
i apologize if i or my kind have made any offense
I hide, carrying my love in my pocket, one last thing to defend.
I hide with courage, i hide with hope
That one day in this deep well of darkness will come a rope
A rope to pull me up into the sky
And with this horrific experience, my memories as my alibi
I say goodbye to these days of old
Moving on to a secular land
Where they do not see, smell or think, yet they understand
That words of mine speak more than the power of a like breaker
For i shall be burdened, to prove or to evade, the crimes of another, the crimes of the life taker
